The VFF
Designed for skiers who require greater levels of forward flex while pounding bumps, skiing powder, freeriding, touring or just cruising in comfort. The VFF's independent flex pattern design provides the same lateral stiffness as the VFF Pro, but then allows the skier to further adjust their level of forward flexion to between 12 and 27°'s. As with the Pro, the VFF is fully customized to the individual's foot and lower leg volumes, widths & dimensions, producing a high performance boot that is both comfortable and warm.
The Heat Fit IV
The Heat Fit IV, designed in conjunction with our partner Intuition Sports, is proprietary to DaleBoot and pre-lasted to the DaleBoot shell during production. It consists of varying densities of multi-layered Ultralon, cross-linked EVA to produce a fit unlike any other on the market. Although issued the original patent for foam injected liners back in 1971, DaleBoot left that technology behind as better materials, more suitable to providing higher levels of both comfort and performance were developed and became available on the market. The Heat Fit IV comes standard with the DaleBoot and is available in three distinct models to best accommodate the widest range of lower leg and foot sizes, dimensions and volumes. In combination with the exclusive DaleBoot Three Piece Tongue and Instep Closure System, the HFIV provides unparalleled ease of entry, fit, comfort and performance.
The Cuff
60D polyether TPU provides excellent lateral support for the ankle and lower leg. The cuff rests at 12°'s, has a maximum forward flex of 27°'s and attaches to the clog at 4 points for optimal alignment with the flex plane of the ankle. Once the ankle biomechanics have been accommodated with either the DaleBoot adjustable footbed or by a fully customized footbed, the ankle's flex plane is directly aligned to transfer power to the ski's inside edge. The alignment of the VFF's flex pattern with the flex plane of the ankle allows the skier to transfer 100% of their power to the proper edge, drastically increasing edge hold, carving ability, and overall performance.
The Clog
Made from 69 durometer virgin polyether TPU, the plastic used in the clog's construction is as stiff as the plastic found in high end, world cup race boots. The result is a boot that delivers the highest possible levels of frontal plane (lateral) stiffness & stability. All DaleBoot models are 100% custom made and designed from the skier's foot, outwards to the shell. Factory-lasted shell mod's, per size, include Length (to +20mm), Width (-4mm to +15mm), & Toe Box height (to +7mm). The last shape is anotomically correct and can be further customized by a DaleBoot Authorized Fit Center to accommodate all foot forms and shapes. DaleBoot is the only company using 100% virgin polyether TPU and the result is a very light, but durable shell that maintains all modifications for the life of the shell.
THE 3 PIECE TONGUE & INSTEP CLOSURE SYSTEM
The Three Piece Tongue and Instep Closure System, unique to DaleBoot, eliminates pressure points (or hot spots) along the instep by utilizing varying densities of softer, more compliant polyether TPU on the shin tongue, instep spat and hinge spat. The progressively softer layers virtually eliminate the possibility of BCS (boot compression syndrome) or nerve impingement, often associated with traditional 4 buckle overlap designs, which causes cold feet, numbness and/or pain. DaleBoot's Three Piece Tongue and Instep Closure System increases comfort, ease of entry/exit, and eliminates pressure points.
THE CANTABLE & REPLACEABLE SOLE UNITS
The result; precise cant correction, neutral balance on the ski and greatly enhanced power transmission to the ski's edge. Proper cant correction takes into account the physical shape of the leg and the affect it has on weight distribution under foot. For example, the weight distribution of a bow-legged skier would be towards the outside of the foot, unequally distributing weight to the outside edge of the ski, & limiting the ability to transfer power to the ski's inside edge while initiating turns. DaleBoot measures the skier's leg shape to the degree and cant corrects closest to the snow, by removing the boot's neutral sole units and replacing them with properly canted soles. Our canted soles are replaceable with extended wear, further extending the life of your boot.
THE ADJUSTABLE FOOTBED
As part of the DaleBoot fitting process, the bio-mechanics of the ankle is closely analyzed and measured. The adjustable footbed, located within the DaleBoot, between the shell and the liner, is then adjusted to account for pronation (eversion of the heel cord), supination (inversion), and/or fore/aft stance balance issues. These adjustments are absolutely critical to fit, form and performance as they provide optimal stance balancing in both the frontal (side to side) and sagittal (fore/aft) planes. Neutral balance in the boot allows the muscles to focus on skiing as opposed to maintaining balance, which in turn allows for full power transmission to the ski’s edge.
In addition, the adjustable insole can also be raised to accommodate slight leg length discrepencies.
Daleboot Custom Ski Boots
Looking forward to the winter, but not your ski boots..?
Skiing is a funny sport as the majority of all skiers simply accept that their equipment needs to hurt. It’s crazy, it doesn’t happen in any other sport, and the question needs to be asked as to how skiers have come to accept such utter nonsense?! Off the shelf ski boots, made for the “perfect foot” (is there one?), and then “fit” by individuals who just don’t have a clue are at the very root of this problem.
DaleBoot has been manufacturing fully customized, high performance ski boots since 1969. This has been our singular focus, and we’ll guarantee your fit with a liner and a shell that’s 100% customized to your individual spec’s. Not only will it fit better, but you’ll ski better..! How? In addition to the customization, we perform a thorough athletic assessment to determine stance balance requirements and then provide each skier with neutral fore/aft and lateral stance balancing within the boot and on the ski. This allows you and your muscles to focus on what’s important – skiing and having fun...
This season is the season to reject the notion that a ski boot needs to hurt in order to perform. Put the fun back into the sport; perform at your best and ski in comfort with DaleBoot.
